Summer Fun & Writing

Juggling all the fun that comes with summer and also trying to write is not an easy task. Summer is my favorite time of the year. The warm weather, the exciting travel plans, the time spent with my daughter, and so many other reasons make it my favorite season.

This year is a bit different as I have just started writing again after nearly two years off due to a traumatic back injury that left me in horrible shape and unable to write. Thankfully, I have managed to make it through a full year of physical therapy and have successfully eliminated all my pain. Stiffness and tight muscles are all that remains. So while I'm able to write, I still have good and bad days.

Writing is a practiced skill. The more often you do it, the better you get. That also applies to speed. That said, I'm rusty as hell. So my ability to pump out those stories appears to be on the slower side, but I'll get faster as I go.

Good thing for muscle memory or my typing ability would be at a snails pace as well. I'm happy to report that it has not been affected. I'm currently hard at work writing my new menege novel and making progress. I'm more than halfway through. I can't wait to share it with you.

Small Town Boys is a sexy Texas romance about a young lady who suffered great loss. Unable to face that loss head-on, she fled from all the things that overwhelmed her heart and mind. The trouble was, she also left behind two men she loved fiercely. Years later, she's forced to come back to her hometown, bringing her face-to-face with those two men. Men who are not pleased that she bailed on them all those years ago. Men who have quietly longed for her return.

Ideally, I'd love to have Small Town Boy and a few short stories finished before the end of the month. The family and I have decided to take a quick vacation and those accomplishments would feel so good. I'll keep you posted on my success. I may have to self-publish a few for a quicker turn around. We'll have to wait and see how my writing goes. Wish me luck!
